Product Overview

Look no further my friends:

Wild caught, cage free, free range, grass fed, domestic, organic, vegan, gluten free, non-GMO. Munky Spunk delivers superior lubricity on titanium, stainless, and other tough metals. This stuff works when nothing else will...even Nano Oil. I'm not even kidding. High viscosity ensures it stays where you put it. Careful though, a little dab 'll do ya.

Munky Spunk prevents galling (see below). This is the same lubricant that I use on my titanium lights and pens. I finally decided to make it available to the masses! Go ahead, impress your friends.

"Monkey Spunk" is a slang term used in the trades for a variety of lubricants; we have intentionally misspelled it for SEO purposes.

Why to titanium and stainless steel require specialized lubrication? Galling!

From Wikipedia: "Galling is a form of wear caused by adhesion between sliding surfaces. When a material galls, some of it is pulled with the contacting surface, especially if there is a large amount of force compressing the surfaces together.

Galling is caused by a combination of friction and adhesion between the surfaces, followed by slipping and tearing of crystal structure beneath the surface. This will generally leave some material stuck or even friction welded to the adjacent surface, whereas the galled material may appear gouged with balled-up or torn lumps of material stuck to its surface."

Threads require regular maintenance if you want them to last and perform at their best:

It's quite simple, but very important. The main task is to lubricate the threads and O-rings. If the threads ever feel "gritty" then those will need to be cleaned with a soft cloth and an evaporating and degreasing cleaner like Windex or Simple Green. The o-rings should get a drop or two of oil if they ever start to feel "stiff."

You'd be surprised by how many different types of oils and greases are out there. You might also be surprised buy how important they are to flashlights. The top contenders for lubricating threads and o-rings are: DuPont Krytox, Super Lube, NyoGel, and Nano-Oil. Normally I recommend Nano-Oil for any metal-on-metal lubrication, but not when it comes to metals that gall. It's better than nothing, but Munky Spunk is the best.

I'm an applied research type of person, so I decided first hand experimentation was better than third party hearsay. I bought some of each, tried them all, and to cut a long story short, our super secret formulation works better than anything else out there on your toughest thread materials.
