The Beta Magnetic ups the CRI game with a Yuji 95+ Ultra High CRI LED. For the sake of simplicity (I think we could all use some simple right now) the light is a single mode. It's also slightly shorter than it's standard Beta QRv2 cousins. Designed for close range, this Beta variant is a "mule" as it's called in the flashlight nerd world. This delivers a perfectly even, insanely wide beam pattern by eliminating the traditional optics or reflector. All flood baby...which is exactly what you need when you are up close and personal.

Based on the renowned Beta QRv2 platform: The Beta QRv2 was the first full production light to use a High CRI LED and helped usher in the age of color good rendering in production flashlights. The Beta Magnetic is another leap forward in color quality.

Designed for close range, this Beta variant is a "mule" as it's called in the flashlight nerd world. This delivers a perfectly even, insanely wide beam pattern by eliminating the traditional optics or reflector. All flood baby...which is exactly what you need when you are up close and personal. Spend less time pointing your light and more time looking for the keys you dropped in the grass.

Proprietary canted coil spring

My canted-coil-springs are custom manufactured specifically for the Beta-QRv2 by a US company who specializes in canted coil springs...literally the only product they make. Normally these are found in connectors for military, medical, and aerospace applications. This little beauty is the single most expensive component of the Beta-QRv2. These are manufactured from 302 Stainless Steel: drawn, coiled, cut to length, and the ends are laser welded together. The springs on your screen are about 10x the actual size. It's a ridiculous achievement in manufacturing to make something this tiny...and then weld it together so the diameter of every spring is accurate to within less than the thickness of a sheet of paper.

The Beta Magnetic is about 1/4" shorter than a standard Beta so it's even easier on your keychain.

single mode: stupid simple

100% output and that's it. The Beta Magnetic clocks in at a modest 40 lumens, but it can sustain that for 2 hours. It's also plenty of light for close up detail work or walking in the dark. The output is limited by the current capacity of the (very very tiny) magnetic reed switch in the tail.
