Foursevens x Carryology x Glow Rhino Quark QK16L MKIII Onibi (Tritium Edition)
The most refined Quark just got better. After almost 2 years of discussion, planning, design, and prototyping, we finally bring you the only production light on the market that comes with Tritium vials (2x green) legally installed. The vials are oriented so one is always facing directly up when the light is resting on its side.
This light features a Nichia 319A in 5000K and 80+ CRI
A redesigned center section is larger in diameter than previous Quarks, but keeps the same diameter overall. This change has the added benefit of improving grip. Carryology's signature pattern is CNC machined (not laser engraved) into the head and features a Storm Grey anodize with and orange highlight on the clip retaining ring. Is this my most favorite Quark ever? It most certainly is!
* This package includes an Xtar MC1 USB charger
* Please charge your battery before use ;)
* Drop is SOLD OUT!

The Collaboration Design
The Foursevens x Carryology x Glow Rhino Quark features Carryology's trademark engraved pattern and color scheme. This looks awesome on its own, but we thought you deserved more awesome. What's more awesome? Tritium vials of course. The only problem is that, for all of flashlight history, you had to source and install your own tritium vials because tritium is a Federally regulated substance and requires a license to integrate it into a product. I've been working with Glow Rhino for years and they acquired the license to legally install tritium into flashlights. So here we are, the world's first production light to ship with tritium vials already installed.
All about Tritium
Tritium is an isotope of Hydrogen. Tritium capsules are coated with phosphor on the inside and filled with tritium gas, a byproduct of nuclear power generation. Tritium gas emits weak Beta radiation, and these electrons excite the phosphor coating, making it glow without being charged with an outside light source.
Beta radiation is so weak that it cannot even penetrate a sheet of paper or your skin, let alone the dense glass vial that contains it. In fact, Beta radiation can only travel about a 1/4" in air. The vials are then inserted into a polycarbonate plastic housing and permanently glued into the slots on the body. Even if broken, the gas is present in such small quantity, and the radiation is so weak, that it does not pose any risk. Don't eat them though. That would be dumb.
Tritium's glow is subtle, but it's plenty to find your light in low to no-light conditions when your vision is night adapted. It has a half-life of 12 years, meaning the radiation (and subsequent glow) will diminish by 50% over 12 years. It's also commonly used in watches, night sights, and many emergency exit signs.
The classic Quark, modernized: It was a huge responsibility to take something so good and improve upon it, but that’s just what we’ve done. When I took over the Foursevens brand from David in 2018, this Quark project quickly became all-consuming. How to take my 10 years of experience designing high-end custom flashlights and combine them with the decade David spent reiterating and refining the brand’s flagship? The end result is the Quark MKIII, the best Quark yet, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to get one into your hands.
- Quark QK16L Flashlight
- Foursevens 16650 battery
- Tailstand Cap
- 2 Spare O-rings
- Instruction Manual
- Xtar MC1 Charger and USB A-C Cable
Operating your Quark is simple:
- Make sure that the battery is inserted with the positive side (+) toward the head.
- To turn it on press or click the tailcap button. A press allows momentary activation of the light.
- A quick off/on cycle changes modes
- Two very quick off/on cycles activates burst mode
- Enter configuration mode with 10 on/off cycles in less than 3 seconds: The light will begin to blink a number of times corresponding to the selected configuration. For example if you are in Config. 3: 3 blinks, pause, 3 blinks. If there is no input for 5 seconds the light will exit configuration mode.
- Turn the light off for 5 seconds to save the current configuration to memory
All Quarks are initially set to Configuration 3 with Medium/High/Burst. They can be reconfigured as often as you'd like.
Here are the possible configurations:
- Config. 1: High - (Burst 100%)
- Config. 2: Max (100%) - Strobe
- Config. 3: Medium - High - (Burst)
- Config. 4: Low - Medium - High - (Burst)
- Config. 5: High - Medium - Low - (Burst)
- Config. 6: Low - Med - High - Strobe - SOS - Beacon - (Burst)
Brightness Levels
- Low (Moonlight): 0.8 lumens, 160 hrs
