It works incredibly well on both flashlight threads and O-rings. See the "in the box" section to see what o-rings are included with the kit for a given flashlight.

Product Overview
Nano-Oil™ is a proprietary formula designed specifically for metal-to-metal contact applications. It works incredibly well on both flashlight threads and o-rings. For the average user, this small 8cc bottle is probably enough for a lifetime. If you aren't a power user, then you might prefer the 1cc bottle. However, I use Nano-Oil on literally everything: lights, knives, door hinges, machinery, etc.
